WHO CAN VOTE??
QUALIFICATIONS TO VOTE:
New to the Crowsnest Pass?? According to the rules below, most of you are eligible to vote.
A person is eligible to vote in the municipal election on Monday October 21st, 2013, if he/she:
a. Is at least 18 years of age
b. Is a Canadian citizen, and
c. Has resided in Alberta for the 6 consecutive months immediately preceding election day (October 21) and is a resident in the area on election day
An elector is eligible to vote only at the following Voting station's in which he/she reside. In the Crowsnest Pass there are three;
- MDM Community Centre - Bellevue (for Hillcrest & Bellevue residents)
- Elk's Hall (for Blairmore & Frank residents)
- Sportsplex Lobby (Coleman people living South & North of HWY 3)
Advance Voting Qualifications:
The persons authorized to vote in advance polls are the electors:
a) who have reason to believe that they will be absent from the local jurisdiction during the whole time fixed for the election
b) who by reason of physical disability find it impossible or extremely difficult to attend at the regular Voting Station
c) who are officials or constables who have been provided a certificate by the returning official entitling them to vote under section 83(3) or (3.1)
d) who for religious reasons are not able to vote on election day.
